Castleman Eye Center was founded in 1971 by Lawrence D. Castleman, M.D. Dr. Castleman built a premiere Detroit area ophthalmology practice with locations in Southgate and Troy. He was a pioneer in the field of Cataract and LASIK eye surgery. He was highly respected by his patients and received many accolades for his brilliant surgical skills in ophthalmology.

Dr. Castleman carefully chose Dr. Snigdha Singh to take over his practice in 2011. Dr. Singh specializes in LASIK, Laser cataract surgery and glaucoma eye disease. Dr. Singh shares Dr. Castleman’s practice philosophy in that he had a true sense of compassion for his patients. Dr. Singh and her colleagues continue to carry on that philosophy today. She feels that patients should be treated as family and makes sure her patients questions are fully answered before they leave our office.

Arezo Amirikia, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist with extensive training in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous.  Having received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from Wayne State University, Doctor Amirikia went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at Kresge Eye Institute.  Doctor Amirikia has authored numerous papers, book chapters, and abstracts in her field and has presented her findings at several scientific meetings.
